appointment will commence as soon as is pracicable. Funding is available for at
least 3 years assuming this post is a paid position.

The Church of Christ the King Eastington
is a new independant evangelical church which is very active and has
considerable outreach in the area. There is contact with families children and young
people.

Accountability
The Pastor/Minister will be employed by the church and will be under the authority of the Church Trustees.
Purpose
and Objectives
To
work in partnership with the Trustees and church community to
build on existing work at the church and to set up, develop and
carry out initiatives which bring adults, children, young people and
families to a faith in, and knowledge of, Christ.
Main
Responsibilities
To be a key leader within the church working with the Trustees. To organise and participate in regular church activities including regular preaching appointments.
To,
after prayer and seeking the leading of the Holy Spirit, develop
a positive, evangelistic outreach to the wider community in the area.
To
enable and encourage the spiritual development of those within, or associated with,
the church.
To
forge and maintain links with churches and other
Christian groups, with the aim of participating in relevant
initiatives and joint ventures/activities in the wider area.
To
attend relevant Trustee Management meetings and provide information,
ideas and feedback as well as participate in the ongoing
development of the church.
To
keep adequate records of the use of time, of contacts and of work
undertaken.
To
evaluate and review initiatives set up and activities undertaken,
and change where necessary the action and focus of work, after
discussion with, and agreement from, the trustees.
Terms
and conditions
The
salary will be c.£ [depends on type/level of input] per
annum.
Normal
working pattern: [x] hours per week; flexible, including some
weekend and evening work.
At
least one day free of responsibilities each week.

successful applicant will provide their own accommodation.
All
reasonable expenses will be reimbursed subject to prior approval.
5.6
weeks [pro-rata hours based on hours] statutory annual leave entitlement per

Appointment
will be subject to a satisfactory enhanced Disclosure and Barring
Service check (DBS).

will be subject to the satisfactory completion of a three-month
probationary period.
Management
Management
will be provided by the Trustees. The responsibilities of the Trustees
will be to:
Be
familiar with the work of the Pastor/Minister.
Work
with the Pastor/Minister to encourage the church to
respond to new challenges and opportunities in mission.
Determine
priorities for the work.
Seek to support the Pastor/Minister through training and other personal development initiatives.
Ensure
good communications between all the ‘stakeholders’
(groups and networks) involved.
Monitor
and evaluate progress with the Pastor/Minister on a
regular basis (meetings will take place at least fortnightly
during the probationary period and not less than quarterly
thereafter).
Act
as a “sounding board” to the Pastor/Minister.
Ensure
that the Pastor/Minister receives suitable pastoral
support.
