The following information is provided to enable potential applicants to understand the type of person we are looking for. The experience we are seeking may have been gained through employment or whilst serving in a voluntary capacity within a church. Enthusiasm and the ability to inspire are difficult to quantify but are very important for this position.

A living faith in our Lord Jesus Christ is essential as is a lifestyle that is compatible with it. It is important not to send mixed messages contrary to Biblical teachings through the way we live or what we preach.  
This post is subject to an Occupational Requirement that the post holder is a committed evangelical Christian under Part 1 of Schedule 9 to the Equality Act 2010.

The following are considered essential:-

A calling and willingness to be a key part of  the Church of Christ the King Eastington

A successful track record in being involved in church growth

A successful track record of preaching and communicating the Gospel.

Experience of practical evangelism or outreach

A good working knowledge of the Bible.

Able to communicate effectively in person and in writing.

Able to motivate self and others.

Able to present a strong Christian example.

Able to work in a team

A willingness to work with churches of other denominations in the area if/when appropriate opportunities exist

Sources of Satisfactory References (we will not follow these up until after the initial interview stage).

Satisfactory Disclosure from the DBS (an enhanced DBS check will be needed for the successful candidate).

The following are considered desirable:-

A track record leading and developing church growth

Experience working with a range of age groups

Working with broken and/or dysfunctional families.

Musical ability/creativity

Able to lead Worship.

Able to organise events.

Able to create and manage publicity.

Able to use Social Media as a tool for growth

Able to use Word, Power Point or similar IT tools.

Able to relate to all age groups.

Able to set and work to goals with limited direct supervision.

Able to contribute effectively to a team.

Able to adapt to changing priorities and circumstances.
